Funding reserved by Federal Agency for supplemental National Emergency Grants (NEGs) to states upon request to address major economic dislocations, such as plant closures and mass layoffs. Allowable activities are generally consistent with Dislocated Worker funds provided to state by formula, including core, intensive, and training services, needs related payments, and supportive services. Unique to NEG funding is the ability to allow of temporary disaster employment of dislocated workers.

| Flow of Funds |
NYSDOL administers the funding. A negotiated portion is reserved for state level administration, reporting, and grant oversight. The majority of the funding is then passed on to the Local Area Project Operators. Total state and local administration costs are normally limited to 10% of the grant. Disbursement occurs at the state and local level.
