| Federal Program Description |
Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) – Infrastructure. FQHCs provide healthcare services to low–income and medically underserved communities. These include: Community Health Centers, Immigrant/Migrant Health Care Clinics, and Public Housing Primary Care Clinics. FQHCs provide general health and wellness care, dental care, mental health and substance abuse care, regardless of the patient’s ability to pay. ARRA includes funds for the construction and expansion of FQHC facilities, equipment, and health information technology.

The Facility Investment Program will support health center efforts to expand their capacity to provide primary and preventive health services to medically underserved populations nationwide as well as create employment opportunities in underserved communities over the next 2 years, to address significant and pressing capital improvement needs in health centers, including modernization, renovation, and construction.
